Welcome to Jackson County Job and Family Services

Jackson County Job and Family Services administers state, federal and local programs designed to assist those in need and help families work toward self-sufficiency.  It is one of the largest county departments within Jackson County and reports to the Jackson County Board of Commissioners.

The Agency is one of the few quadruple-combined public human service organizations in Ohio, providing public assistance, children’s services, child support, and workforce development programs to the community. And, with just around fifty (50) employees, serves nearly one in three Jackson County residents throughout the year.

Among the department’s many responsibilities: Child Protective Services (CPS), Adult Protective Services (APS), Child Care, Child Support Enforcement, Workforce Development (OhioMeansJobs), Cash Assistance (Ohio Works First), Food Assistance (SNAP), and medical assistance (Medicaid).

Since 2013, the team has been led by Agency Director Tammy Osborne-Smith.
