The OhioMeansJobs Center provides services and resources that link job seekers and employers.  Our team of Employment Specialists are committed to providing tools, such as career coaching, job training, customized job-search assistance, and workshops as well as individualized services for individuals looking for job, or a new career pathway.  Our menu of free services also includes: 

  • Cover Letter and Resume Writing
  • Mock Interviewing
  • One-on-One Career Consultation
  • Career and Labor Market Information
  • Access to computers, telephone, fax, internet, and a copy machine

Individuals that are interested in furthering their education, or improving their job skills, may be eligible for services through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).  Eligible job seekers may prepare for their future through training, education, supportive services, or on-the-job training designed to match the skill sets needed in today’s job market.

The WIOA program is offered to participants that meet the eligibility and suitability criteria.  Training through the WIOA program is provided by educational institutions that are approved by the state of Ohio.  To schedule an in-person or virtual appointment to learn more about the WIOA program, please call:  740.688.4201.

The OhioMeansJobs Center staff work directly with employers to find qualified candidates for your business.  Whether you are hiring for entry-level or skilled positions within your organization, we are here to help you recruit and retain a skilled workforce.

Our Business Outreach staff can meet with you to focus on an employer-driven plan that will align with your most critical needs.  As your partner for training, recruiting, and retaining staff, we would be delighted to assist you with the following:

As your business grows, or experiences change, Incumbent Worker Training (IWT) can support training initiatives that benefit your team.  Through IWT, our organization can assist with developing the skills of existing employees that have been with your team for six months or more.  The training can assist in promoting job retention and create new opportunities within your workforce. 

The On-the-Job Training program (OJT), which is a federally funded program, can assist employers both hire and train staff for full-time, long-term employment.  (Full-time employment is considered 32 hours per week.)  Through this program, while trainees gain critical skills to drive  business, employers may be reimbursed up to 50% of the wages earned by eligible trainees.  Training is developed to meet your business needs and our Business Outreach staff would be delighted to assist you with developing, forecasting and organizing your plan.

In addition to the benefits offered through IWTs and OJTS, employers may take advantage of customized assistance with employee recruitment and assessments.  Staff can work specifically with you to identify employees through strategic methods that promote positive recruitment outcomes.

The OhioMeansJobs Center team can also assist employers with job postings and marketing through OhioMeansJobs.com and social media outlets.  Together, we can promote your job openings and career opportunities throughout Jackson County and the region.
